For Next Time

Jase,

It's so nice to finally be able to sit down and write to you that I can hardly remember all of what I need to tell you. Things have been going pretty well here. We've finally got to know some of the staff. There's a nurse, Melina, that's the spitting image of my best friend way back in interim school. I tried to tell her that, but I think I just came off like a crazy old woman. She really does, though. I caught my breath when she came in and I can't stop thinking about those days. I know I've told you this before, but you have to relish this time in your life. And I know your life is complicated–so much more than mine was in those days–but don't forget to enjoy your time and your friends.

Your Millie's not going to be coming home for a while. It happened again when we were out for a walk yesterday morning. She's been trying so hard, Jase. But she just needs a little more time. We all need a little more time.

F.

p.s. For next time: I'm beginning to think that life is just a process of going crazy and becoming sane and going crazy again, but I need the advice of someone who's not gone around as many times.
